MOLECULAR MECHANISMS AND NETWORK DYNAMICS
UNDERLYING BRAIN WIRING

The Pouchelon Lab, at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) focuses on how experience shapes conserved genetic programs of brain development leading to adaptative behaviors at adulthood. The development of the brain is not linear, but rather dynamic. Early and transient neuron connectivity controls a precise cascade of wiring events, leading to the maturation of the brain.

Using molecular, cellular and physiological techniques, we investigate the interplay between experience and genetics in the development of early and transient connectivity in the neocortex and how it goes awry in neurodevelopmental disorders.
